Caroline McHugh

Based in Dynamis’ New York office, Caroline "Callie" McHugh specializes in complex commercial litigation, white collar defense, and government and internal investigations.

Callie has represented individuals and companies of all sizes in both federal and state court proceedings across a variety of sectors, including the insurance, health care, telecommunications, and financial services industries. She has experience at all levels and stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigations, through trial, and to appellate matters reaching the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Dynamis LLP, Callie practiced white collar defense and commercial litigation at Friedman Kaplan LLP and Ropes & Gray LLP in New York. Callie previously clerked for Judge Janet Bond Arterton in the District of Connecticut.

Callie graduated with honors from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Northwestern Law Review and was the Regional Champion and a National Finalist with the Bartlit Center ABA/AAJ Trial Team. Callie received her undergraduate degree in International Relations from Tufts University. She is professionally proficient in Spanish and speaks basic French.

Representative matters include:

Represented pharmaceutical manufacturer in contractual disputes in the heavily regulated and highly pressurized experimental drug manufacturing industry;

Defended individual white-collar defendant accused of money laundering and duty evasion in the District of New Jersey and secured favorable plea deal;

Negotiated favorable settlement for client in high-stakes bankruptcy proceeding;

Represented major investment company in multi-state and district legislation as both plaintiff and defendant;

Second-chaired trial in high-profile child abduction case in the Southern District of New York.
