Michael B. Homer
Partner
Michael Homer is a former federal prosecutor who specializes in high-stakes litigation, including white-collar criminal defense, government investigations, whistleblower suits, and complex business disputes. Michael splits his time between the firm’s Boston and Miami offices, and represents clients nationwide.
Michael is a powerful advocate in and out of the courtroom. He has successfully served as lead trial counsel in more than a dozen major cases, most recently winning an across-the-board trial victory against the SEC on behalf of a client accused of securities fraud. Michael has also helped many clients avoid litigation in the first place, with his creative and cost-effective approach to dispute resolution. A trusted advisor, Michael relies on his years of DOJ experience to help clients navigate their most difficult challenges.
Before joining Dynamis LLP, Michael served for six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, where he gained national recognition for prosecuting major financial crimes. As a federal prosecutor in Miami, he led more than 100 investigations and prosecutions involving serious federal offenses, including health care fraud, securities and investment fraud, crypto fraud, mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, cyber crimes, export violations, and money laundering.
Michael’s high-profile prosecutions frequently garnered widespread media attention, including his prosecution of the “Bleach Boys,” a Florida family who sold a toxic bleach solution as a “miracle” cure for COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and autism. Michael’s work as the lead prosecutor in that case (U.S. v. Grenon) was covered extensively by national and international publications and media outlets, including the New York Times, Fox News, MSNBC, CBS News, and the Washington Post, and was the subject of a popular true crime podcast produced by Bloomberg, “Smoke Screen: Deadly Cure.” Michael was also a key member of the DOJ team which investigated the international conspiracy to assassinate President Jovenel Moïse of Haiti.
Prior to becoming a federal prosecutor, Michael spent five years as a litigator with Ropes & Gray LLP, where he gained extensive experience in the health care and life sciences industries; represented Fortune 500 companies and executives in False Claims Act cases, criminal prosecutions, and commercial litigation; and conducted numerous internal investigations for corporate clients.
Michael began his legal career by graduating near the top of his class from Columbia Law School, and serving as a federal law clerk in the Southern District of New York.
