Emily Scarisbrick Weisberg

Associate

Emily represents clients in a broad range of white-collar criminal defense cases, government and internal investigations, and complex civil litigation.

Emily has deep experience defending individuals, financial institutions, and companies in investigations and litigation brought by the DOJ, SEC, and other regulators. She has achieved declinations to prosecute or favorable resolutions in numerous cases, including cases with allegations of insider trading, spoofing, and securities fraud. She has extensive experience guiding clients through testimony before regulators and at trial, and has obtained major victories on appeal. Emily also represents companies and boards in sensitive internal investigations, in addition to representing plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal disputes. In 2014, she was recognized in the Legal 500 for white collar litigation.

Before joining Dynamis, Emily practiced in the litigation group of Milbank LLP and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Jane Restani on the United States Court of International Trade. 

Emily is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley School of Law and Middlebury College, and a former Teach For America Corps Member.

Experience

Representative Matters:

  • Represented Senior Executive of a financial institution in DOJ federal investigation into alleged spoofing, resulting in no individual charges

  • Represented Senior Executive of a financial services company in a multi-year federal investigation of a criminal scheme to defraud clients, resulting in a non-charge resolution

  • Represented General Counsel of a large pharmaceutical company in SEC investigation, resulting in no charges

  • Achieved reversal of grand larceny conviction following oral argument in the NY Appellate Division

  • Obtained significant sentence reduction for client convicted of homicide following seven years of post-conviction advocacy

  • Represented major real estate investor in securities class action, resulting in a favorable settlement

  • Represented investor in affirmative breach of contract litigation in NY Commercial Division
