Michael B. Homer Appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel
Dynamis LLP is proud to announce that Michael B. Homer, a Partner in our Boston office, has been appointed to serve on the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel for the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Appointment to the CJA Panel is a distinct professional honor reserved for highly qualified criminal defense attorneys who have demonstrated the expertise, trial skills, and high ethical standards necessary to represent defendants in complex federal criminal matters. Panel members in the District of Massachusetts are chosen through a rigorous vetting process overseen by a committee of federal judges and experienced practitioners.
The Criminal Justice Act (18 U.S.C. § 3006A) is the mechanism by which the federal courts ensure that the Sixth Amendment right to counsel is preserved for all defendants, regardless of their financial means. While the Federal Public Defender’s Office handles many of these cases, the Court maintains a select panel of private attorneys to represent indigent defendants when conflicts of interest arise or caseloads demand it.
Commitment to Justice and Elite Advocacy
Michael’s appointment to the CJA Panel underscores our firm’s commitment to vigorously defending the rights of the accused, as well as our standing in the federal white-collar defense bar.
Serving on the panel allows private practitioners to handle a diverse array of federal cases—ranging from wire fraud and financial crimes, to narcotics and firearm offenses, to complex criminal conspiracies—further sharpening the courtroom instincts that Dynamis attorneys bring to every engagement.
We congratulate Michael on this appointment and look forward to the continued zealous advocacy he will provide to clients in the District of Massachusetts, and nationwide.
